For photographers

Image use & copyright

Every photograph belongs to the photographer who made it. Here is precisely what we do with them, and how to ask us to stop.

What we do

  • When a couple enters a website, we read a limited number of photographs from the public pages of that site so the couple can compare them privately.
  • Photographs appear only inside that couple’s own private comparison, at a reduced display size, and are never listed publicly or indexed by search engines.
  • Studio names, source addresses and original filenames are hidden in the test. Visible watermarks are preserved and may identify the photographer. Embedded metadata is removed from newly imported JPEG, PNG and WebP files.

What we never do

  • Remove, crop out or obscure watermarks or credits
  • Build public galleries, feeds, portfolios or downloadable archives
  • Sell, licence or redistribute photographs
  • Rank, score or publicly compare photographers
  • Use photographs to train image models

Removal requests

If you own a photography website and prefer that its images are not used here, send its address and evidence of ownership to the contact below. We remove stored copies and block further imports after verifying the request.

A note on fairness

Comparisons are built to be even-handed: similar subjects, similar orientation and similar colour treatment are matched against each other, and the two photographers swap sides at random. No photographer can pay for placement or influence a result.
